Work with an experienced team finding great footage, memorable moments and the best way to capture them. Learn the workflow of dropping footage on the run and be part of the excitement of working collaboratively on a compressed time project. This workshop is not for the meek or the shy! NHL 2010 Game Competition
The day starts off with a round robin tournament, 16 players in each heat. 8 move onto the quarter finals, 4 move onto the semi finals. The remaining 2 battle it out for the title of Best Game Player of the show!
Learn the secrets of life! Life drawing that is. Guests will participate with an instructor and a live model in a life drawing workshop. Life drawing is a core skill performed by production artists in the Computer Generated Entertainment Industry to capture, articulate, and communicate the structure, anatomy, and mechanics of the human body. Participants in this interactive workshop will take away their own life drawings

Filming: Your journey starts on set! Get into wardrobe, find your mark and get ready; by the end of this workshop, you’ll know what it’s like to be the director, the cinematographer, or the action star of your own short film! Participate in full wardrobe in a green screen shoot. Learn how to slate and get a few directing pointers from the pros!

Editing: It’s time to get technical. With the footage you helped shoot, get a primer in Final Cut. You’ll lay it into a time line and start cutting!
Build your dreams! Explore the world of 3D modeling and learn the tools used by professional artists in the film, television, and video game industry.

Audio: Get technical with sound! Good sound design is the cornerstone of good filmmaking. Move “into the studio” where you’ll use pro tools to manipulate tracks, add sound effects and breathe life into digital video footage.
Media Arts Production- Visual Effects
Make the unbelievable believable! VFX is quickly becoming one of the biggest markets in the motion picture industry. Watch how ordinary looking footage becomes transformed through the magic of visual effects in a hands on workshop.
Guests will create Mii avatars on the Nintendo Wii platform. It will be a contest to create the best Wii avatar of either oneself or a well known celebrity. An avatar is a common feature of most video games and is a fun activity for the students, parents and younger siblings who attend Artimation. We will give awards for:
1. Most creative design
2. Best personal likeness
3. Best celebrity likeness
4. Scariest Mii design
5. Best video game character likeness
Workshop starts with a quick demonstration of what programming is and how to write a program using the Lego Mindsotrm NTX editor.
We write a program and tell the participants what the program does. We give them parts list and they build the robot and make any final software adjustments.
All three teams then take their finished robots to an obstacle course with a red ball where the first robot that finds the ball wins.
Bring your characters to life! Participants will learn the principles and techniques of classical animation to create the illusion of life using just a pencil and their imagination.
